The Upper Deschutes has been fishing well. Nymphing will be the most consistent method for picking up fish. Psycho princes, eggs, durcells, rainbow warriors, and copper johns are some of our favorites to name a few. Dry-dropper setups can be a fun and effective way to approach these sections of river. Stripping streamers around some of the undercut banks and downed timber is another good way to get some larger fish but can be dangerous on your flies. Like anywhere else this time of year its also beneficial to have some Caddis and PMD’s on you in case you find yourself in the right place at the right time and find risers.
