The Crooked continues to fish as it has, with nymphing being the best bet for those looking to consistently get into fish. Midge patterns and small Mayfly nymphs have been productive as usual, with small stonefly patterns being a great lead fly to attract some attention as the water continues to color. The best time to throw dries will be in the evening, with Caddis making regular appearances close to dark each night. There are some Mayflies around as well, with PMDs being a decent option for dry fly fishing in the mornings or late evenings. With the weather continuing to warm, the Crooked is a nice option for all-day fishing as the water temperatures have remained nice and cool. Those fish have seen a lot of flies this summer, pinch barbs and minimize fish handling to keep the fish healthy.
