Crooked River Update

Crooked River Update

It’s a good time of year to be on the Crooked, which has continued to fish consistently with the standard tailwater bugs we typically see success with. Not much has changed in the past couple of weeks, and there is opportunity to target fish on dries, nymphs, and small streamers. Look for the best dry fly action during a mid-day PMD hatch or with a late evening Caddis hatch. The strength of the hatch varies from day to day, so when the fish aren’t looking up focus efforts subsurface with a light nymph rig or small streamer/leech pattern. A good, natural drift will find fish, and swinging a soft hackle or leech pattern is a fun way to switch things up.
