The water on the Crooked got bumped up to 300 cfs, so it’s probably going to be a bit off for the next 2-3 days. Best to wait for it to level off before you hit the water. If you still plan on heading out that way be sure to use Firestarter perdigons, BWO perdigons, and scuds in tan, orange, or green right now. Play with your depth and weight, and you’ll find fish hanging in the deeper pools and runs. Dry fly action is winding down for the year, but nymphing is still keeping things productive. The Crooked’s shaping up to be a great winter fishery—lots of open water and fish that are ready to take a bite.
