FALL REPORT - 8/28/26
The Fall River remains a reliable late-August option, with cold spring-fed water keeping conditions consistent throughout the system. Weed edges, deeper slots, and submerged structure continue to be the water worth slowing down for.
Small PMDs and olive caddis remain important, with BWOs and midges continuing to round out the mix. Terrestrials are still very much in play, and ants, beetles, and hoppers are good options through the afternoon. Keeping dry flies on the smaller side continues to be a good approach when fish are actively looking up.
Subsurface fishing remains the most consistent producer with small Perdigons, midges, scuds, Two Bit Hookers, and smaller stonefly patterns all producing. Leeches and small streamers remain good options around deeper bends and woody structure.
