Crane has been fishing well, with good numbers of quality fish becoming a more regular occurrence as they move into the channels and become easier to target. A variety of tactics are working, Damsels, Chironomids, Callibaetis, and terrestrials are all viable food sources. Slow stripping Damsels along weed beds can still produce some good numbers of fish, especially if the most concentrated areas of the algae bloom can be avoided. Where there is a lot of algae, go deep with Chironomids or an assassin below an indicator to find fish feeding near the bottom. The algae will continue to be a challenge, but is plenty manageable for the moment, it has been good to see more and more of the big Rainbows that we all know Crane Produces.
