Fall River Update

Fall River Update

There are good numbers of large fish in the Fall right now. It has been good to see the fish stick around through the winter and to have the Fall as a viable and exciting option for those trying to stay on the water while others are tying or hitting the slopes. Most fish are podded up at this point and the best approach is to find a concentration of fish before wetting a line. Many of the standard Midge and attractor nymphs are finding fish right now, but the most consistent feeding activity has been during an early afternoon BWO hatch. The hatch is sporadic and its strength varies by the day. Hope to find fish nosing up to emergers and fish a dry dry dropper when the bugs are coming off. There have been some small Stoneflies out on the right days as well. It’s worth packing a Caddis pattern or two just in case the fish key in on the adult Stones.
